Classic Elegant Wedding in private villa, Marbella

I met Stefanie and Mark at the end of 2011, when she emailed  me searching for a Wedding Planner. We already enjoyed each other over the phone when I called her back, and my first meeting with this young and stylish couple already set the standards of our relationship. They are polite, well educated, self confident and with very high expectations. We had six months to go for an elegant and classic wedding in a private villa in Marbella. The ‘WOW’ factor was a must and we started working straight away!

They had already decided on their color scheme when we met: an ivory base with bordeau and gold touches. Every detail was carefully designed around that palette to be creative and cohesive. All five senses were taken into consideration.
I can imagine their guests’ first impression when opening their mail to find hand-made paper envelopes and invites, with true pearl powder, a wax stamp with their initials -like in the old times- and hand embodied calligraphy… in four different languages, so that each guest could read in their own mother tongue! All the stationery on the day followed the same principle than the invites: table names, escort cards, place cards and even the guestbook, a bespoke design handmade just for Stefanie and Mark.
Other than the date, time and place details, the wedding invites included the link to their own private wedding website, fully designed by CAPRICHIA, where guests were advised on accommodation options and special rates negotiated on their behalf, they could manage their confirmations, learn about Marbella and what to do during their stay, share photos and comments…
I must admit that, as a couture wedding planner, best reward was hearing from Stefanie that, even if she had planned many details in her head already when we met, she was very positively surprised when checking that, for each step of the process, I had something to suggest that she hadn’t thought of!
Look at the monogramed carpet leading the way from the entrance of the magnificent villa chosen towards the ceremony area…
… and let me describe, in very little words, all what happened that day… on site ceremony under a flower arch, cornflower and lavender confetti toss, white pigeons release, champagne toast and cocktail with a live Dixieland jazz band, delicious five-course gala dinner with Spanish flavors  and touching speeches,  bespoke cake cutting, balloons release, bouquet launch… and top-brand spirits during open bar and dancing until late at night… with best quality music and entertainment provided to perfection by Ian Preston…
Maaaany hours of design, planning and on the day coordination work, but so much beauty and so many sparkling eyes made it all worth it! I leave you for now with a few more pics to look at Mark’s stunning Ermenegildo Zegna wedding suit and the prettiest Stefanie, like taken from a Sisi the emperatrice book, in her fabulous wedding gown from Pronovias. My very best wishes to the newlyweds Stefanie & Mark!
And of course, credits for the pictures to the talented photographer Anna Gazda, whose splendid work makes mine look even better! Thank you, Anna! Once again, a great pleasure working with you!

A Wedding Planner? To have or not to have, that is the question…

I have recently been interviewed for an article in a wedding magazine and the first question was: “Why should a bride use a wedding planner?”

Maybe you are one of the many brides who have decided to get married in Marbella or somewhere else in the surrounding areas of Andalucia, and you are still wondering whether you should book a professional wedding planner. You may be working on your list of pros and cons, and still questioning about the real added value that a professional wedding planner can provide, and you may also be in the process of trying to convince yourself about the idea of just doing it yourself.

I am sharing my reply with you here, in the hope that it may help you make the right decision and you may actually enjoy this exciting, but time and energy consuming process, so that you can start your journey towards the altar in the trust that you are taking the right steps.

My Tip: Give yourself the chance to work through the process being guided and supported, and allowing your own ideas to get enriched and highly personalized, to achieve an extraordinary wedding, unique to you. Choose a wedding planner you trust and be demanding with her. If she happens to be me, get ready to feel pampered and set high expectations. My challenge will be exceeding them!

Happy Wedding Planning!

Pale Pink Ballet Wedding, Southern Spain

There are some wedding color palettes that bring me balance, and this is one of those.

I feel in harmony when pale pinks and peachy tones are around… A bit of a vintage look and a touch of antique gold makes it sublime…

And being dance in general and ballet in particular one of my favorite expressions of art, adding some light tutus and perfect ballerina postures to the scene make it complete… not forgetting matching lovely outfits for the flower girls!

I would picture this one as an ideal wedding mood board for an elegant, yet soft and sweet destination wedding in a chic venue in Marbella or surrounding areas, don’t you think? I already have a couple in mind…

Happy Saturday and Happy Wedding Planning!
