Unique & Magic Destination Wedding in Andalucia

This superb foreign couple living in Dubai starts designing their dream wedding:

… in the South of Spain…  at a venue where we can stay for a week with family and friends… in the middle of the nature… with a blessing ceremony at the ruins of a true castle… followed by a cocktail with stunning views… and a magic dinner reception and dance…

The couple got in contact with me and, even if none of them had ever been to Malaga before, and we didn’t get the chance to meet each other until the day before the wedding, I became their eyes, ears and hands over here and we worked together during nine intense months. I can now proudly tell that we made their dream come true in the heart of the province of Malaga!

The challenge was setting up their blessing ceremony on the top of a hill, stepping on the ruins of a true castle. And we did it! Everybody made their way up to this site surrounded by the former walls of an Arab castle and the spot was worth the walk!

Every detail was looked after with so much care and love… The ceremony programs, the pieces of music played by a cellist on site, the natural smelly dried confetti for the toss, the chairs and their decoration, the flower stands for the altar, the bride’s, maid of honor’s and bridesmaid’s bouquets and their umbrellas, the buttonholes for the gentlemen, the favors for guests, the hand-calligraphied stationery…

(Are you wondering how did it all look so “ceremony-like” even in such a rough location? Getting those logistics organized all the way there was CAPRICHIA’s work! ;o) Look at the confetti toss and find me celebrating from behind! ;o)

Once the ceremony and the photo session were over, guests were transported to the incredible venue where the cocktail and reception took place and this was another big “wow” of the evening…

Just the perfect music welcomed guests to an open terrace overlooking the mountains were they could enjoy a menu of personalized cocktails that the bride had designed for the occasion herself…

The dinner setup was the best kept secret until the moment arrived. A typical Andalusian patio was turned into a fairy tale dinning area with candles, hanging candleholders and that vintage/antique-look that could be felt through the silver and old gold palette of colors used for the table clothes and runners, the chairs and the flower centerpieces…

And once gain, details! Being in Spain, the couple decided to make a tribute to the most famous Spanish painters naming each of the tables with their names; Miró, Velázquez, Goya…!

Guests walked in right at sunset… -impossible to make it more romantic- and found their seats with the help of these fantastic escort cards, hanging from a mini bottle of wine, which served as favor souvenirs. On the same table, an album where guests could leave their messages for the bride and groom.

I am taking the best possible final words for this post from the kind testimonial that the groom wrote to me:

“It was an extraordinary wedding – we can’t stop looking at the photos. Our family and friends were also really swept away by the whole occasion. We really can’t thank you enough for giving us something that we’ll never forget.”

All I can say is… dreams DO come true, and I will never forget this wedding experience myself!

We have to thank the talented photographer Anna Gazda for having provided us with these incredible photos!

Chic Shopping – French Provence

I cannot help it. Walking around these charming little shops and boutiques in the South of France turns me into a shopping maniac and I feel the urge to get it all (even if I obviously end up controlling myself and not purchasing much…)

And the main reason for this is the way all these items look! They are featured in such a nice way in those windows! In other words, as I always tell my clients when designing an ambience or decor, it is all about “format” and caring about details, which will make a difference in the final global result!

No one needs most of those things… they may not even match your style or decor back home if you are not a “provence style fan” -as I am-… but still, they just look too pretty to be left there!

Most of the things displayed are not sophisticated or have any special glam, but they look so eye-catching and appealing to all senses, that you at least spend a few minutes looking at them!

The simpliest paper napkins, natural soaps, bottles of oil, metal boxes, jams ot lavender bags gather on the shelves and windows with such a chic look!

I left one of my favourites to the end… as there is also room for kids stuff ! Fall in love with these kids’ cutlery and crockery… I was unable to choose which one I liked best! ;o)

As in the designs above, designing and developing a remarkable celebration has a lot to do with “the how”… How it looks, how food, lighting and decor are presented, how guests’ senses get attracted and what a mark all these leave in their memories…

Are you ready to celebrate this way??? ;o)

Casual Wedding by CAPRICHIA in Málaga’s countryside

This charming “Rancho” in the middle of the nature in Malaga was the best possible venue to celebrate the wedding of this sweet couple. Not only the property is fantastic -and you feel at home as you walk in- but it is run by this superb family, who have been taking such a good care of every detail, that they have turned this place into the perfect spot for a countryside wedding.

The Rancho features an incredible landscape, but the addition of all kind of elements brought from different spots of the world and strategically positioned along the property, makes the visitor feel as if he or she had travelled back in time to the nineteenth century… Aren’t the bike or the tractor on the photos just lovely?

The couple was looking for a casual ambience where everyone would feel relaxed and have a good time. Guests were welcomed with fresh limonade and mint tea, before they attended the civil ceremony, which was celebrated on premises, under a “pergola”, which served as the best cover for the altar.

Music played a main role during the ceremony, with the perfect selection of themes at each momentum, and the performance of a flamenco singer and a guitarrist, singing directly for the bride and groom…

As part of this relaxed atmosphere, it was decided to serve a casual dinner based on typical Spanish dishes, presented in buffet style, and leave the guests to choose their seat with freedom (so, none of my beloved table plans or escort cards this time ;o)

Dinning tables with colourful flowers on top were gathered by the side of a few buffet stations with the most original, and yet practical set up. All food looked irressitable and tasted delicious! I love the effect of these wooden chairs with the white linen ad the sparkling candles on top…

I leave you with this romantic photo of the couple taking a pause on their way from the cocktail to the dinning area… Look at this incredible surroundings and you will have to agree with me that this is a special place to get married at!

A last pro about this finca is the possibility to accomodate up to 20 guests on the night of the wedding/event (included in the rental price), in some absolutely charming “casitas” on site!
