The Destination – Insider Top Tips

My name is Lucia Fraga and I am originally from Madrid, the exciting capital of Spain. After 11 years settled in Marbella, I have gained the vision of an insider about this casual luxury destination and its amazing surroundings in Malaga province and the region of Andalusia.

Climate & Casual Luxury Lifestyle:

At short flying-time distance and with convenient connections, the sun shines most of the year around the Costa del Sol, with nice and warm Summers and mild Winters. Marbella in particular has been blessed with the presence of “La Concha”, the icon mountain that backs up its much appreciated microclimate.  Walking in shorts along the beach in January is nothing special over here.

Partially due to this weather feature, the area has traditionally attracted high-class visitors from all over Europe and overseas, who have found in the destination a second-to-none quality of life atmosphere of relaxed luxury, overlooking the African coast, to the extent that many of them have become residents, providing Marbella with the most cosmopolite and sparkling day and night life all year through.

My Top Tip:

Take climate as part of your own concept of luxury and set the standards of your celebration around it.

Tourism & Leisure:

Malaga International Airport is the entrance gate to a whole world of coastal and inland villages and touristic attractions not only in Malaga itself, but also in other nearby provinces reachable within driving distance, such as Seville, Cordoba or Granada.

History, culture, art, sports, shopping, sightseeing, gastronomy… the opportunities are endless to enjoy a short getaway or a long stay, walking around the Andalusian white villages (“pueblos blancos”), visiting impressive museums, trekking up the hills and cliffs, playing golf in top-class courses, feeling pampered at breathtaking SPAs, dinning wonderful food and wine, enjoying the Mediterranean sea and the water sports, out shopping or simply chilling out.

My Top Tip:

A destination wedding or event is a much wider experience than the party celebration itself. Adding some touristic and leisure activities to the program will make your celebration a remarkable memory for you and your guests.

Choice of Quality Venues:

When it comes to celebrating, possibilities are endless to find that dream venue that suits your style for your party, blessing, ceremony, cocktail, wedding reception, gala dinner…

A glamorous beach club, a fine restaurant by the sea, a traditional “cortijo” inland with unspoiled views, a charming boutique hotel, a luxurious and comfortable private villa, a historic Arabian castle, a stunning hacienda with lush gardens…

My Top Tip:

You name it, we have the right venue in our portfolio waiting for you to be discovered and fell in love with it.

Food & Wine:

Spain is well-known worldwide for its quality and delicious gastronomy, with famous recipes that have travelled the globe. Andalusia in particular has its own specialties such as “gazpacho”, to be added to a list of dishes from other areas, such as the famous “paella”, to name one.

But good food always tastes better with a good glass of the best Spanish wine. With plenty of vineyards all over the Spanish geography, the wine list available for quality bodied red wines and fresh fruity or dry white wines, many of them internationally awarded, is enormous.

My Top Tip:

Including a Spanish touch of quality gastronomy to your event or wedding menu is an added value that has proved to be very much appreciated by guests from any origin.
